Meet the Robinson Family- Future RC Homeowners

Sabrina is a Knoxville native, a loving daughter, and a devoted mom. She is also a hard worker and a dedicated community member. She currently works with the YWCA as a Program Coordinator for their Families Stabilization Program, helping single parents through financial and mental health resources. Previously, she worked at the Boy & Girls Club of the TN Valley. She has worked with the Boys & Girls Club in various capacities on and off for the past twenty years. She told us, “My heart is to serve others and this is what I love.”

Sabrina said that even more important than where a person grows up is where they choose to serve and invest their time. She is passionate about empowering kids and families to speak up for themselves and advocate for the changes they want to see. Sabrina explained she sees herself as someone who can be counted on when someone needs her to show up for them. She hopes to build a network of like-minded people.

Sabrina told us, “I am a child of a single parent, Louise Fletcher, who is my biggest supporter and cheerleader! She is my rock, teacher, and best friend. My family lives here in Knoxville and has all my life. My community is East Knoxville.”

She also shared with us a little bit about her kids:

“Chris is a full-time student at UT Martin where he is also a football player. He loves sports and plans to graduate in December in communications. I think he will definitely coach football one day.

Next, we have the twins, Kadell and Kaden, the athlete and the artist. Kadell loves sports as well, but he has recently decided to go to trade school locally and wants to one day live in Texas. He is currently working at the Boys & Girls Club. He loves to travel and have fun.

Kaden, the artist, loves to draw! He is a Student at ETSU and he is taking up psychology as his major and plans on becoming a school counselor or working in that field in some capacity. He is also working at the Change Center and the Boys & Girls Club as a Tutor.

The youngest are the girls, Layla and Jailaijai. Layla finished her freshman year of high school with a 4.0 GPA and is looking forward to trying out for the girl’s basketball team. She loves shoes and fashion and being silly!

Jailaijai, the last of the crew, is my girly girl who is in Pre-K this fall. She loves to sing and play housekeeping with her babies!

That’s the crew! My family is my heart, my drive, and the reason I go so hard to make things happen each day!”

Sabrina explained that owning a home would impact her children “tremendously.” She said that having a stable environment where the kids can grow and thrive would give them all a sense of fulfillment.

She is excited about becoming a first-time homeowner because she wants a place that is theirs, where they can make lasting memories and further family traditions. She wants to set an example for her kids and show them how empowering it can be to take pride in their home and community. And she wants other people to see this too; “If it’s possible for me, it’s possible for you!”

When we asked if she had anything else to add, she said, “I am so thankful that God has allowed this to happen for our family. God is so great and I am so thankful to be here and have made this connection for my family! I am so excited about what is to come. I drive past our home every day and envision what it will become, and I am extremely grateful!”
